Review
There is one minor shortcut version of the Lake Loop. This variant is sadly a lot less cool than its name would suggest. There are two reasons for choosing to run this route: one, true to its name, this version is far more shaded than the conventional trail, which hugs a sunny grass path in an open field; and, two, it offers a little bit of variety for a very commonly run loop. However, the quality of the trail on the hiking section is naturally inferior to the main horse trails that are adjacent to the Lake Loop, and you are deprived of the view of Lake Jackson. In short, only hit this route if you are really bored of Lakes or really want some shade.Â
