Review
This route is sort of special to me since I probably have done this route way more than anybody ever should or probably will do. For reasons unbeknownst to me, my coach made me do this route a lot when I first started cross country. But enough about me, and more about this arbitrary group of directions on dirt trails in the woods.
If you want to forget that Lake Jackson exists, then you have found your route. Unfortunately, skipping the arguably most scenic part of the trails comes at the cost of not seeing the nicer parts of the trails on the Phipps Park side of the park. For your troubles, you will get to run some pretty flat rails for 7 miles.
There are no major hills whatsoever on the AddOn nor the half, so you will have absolutely no elevation to worry about. Instead, the main thing you will worry about is the sense of boredom that comes with running around the same section of trails over and over again. For instance, the section of trail that the Add On and half mile overlap will be traversed 4 times on this route, all in the same direction as well, which is really boring.
I will only introduce this route because of the sheer quantity of times that I have run it. It is a solid option, but I fail to find any advantages that make it more viable than the other routes for 7 miles.
