Review
This route has just a little bit of everything in it. Want some elevation? Here’s half a lake hill. Some weird trails? A little stint on a bike path should do the trick. A mid-run water break? Does 6.5 miles out of 9 qualify as “mid run?”
Although being unbelievably “mid,” this route is a pretty viable alternative to Two Cashin Loops for hitting 9 miles. This route has a diverse array of scenery, with no parts of this route ever being the same part of trail in the same direction. This route involves nearly every single major loop at the parks, with only Lake Overstreet Loop being excluded.
This route is also one of the easiest ways to do 9. The elevation is minimal, as only one Cashin Loop has to be ran, which severely reduces the total amount of elevation on this loop. After that one half of a lake hill, the last 5.5 miles of this route are completely smooth sailing. The other easy part of this route is the unsymmetrical water break it provides. The water break at 6.5 miles is a weird time to have a water break, but just getting a quick drink before the final stretch can feel pretty nice in my opinion. Or it can make you enraged that you must haul your run during your sacred final 3 miles. In that case this route probably is not for you then.
I have nothing overtly negative to say about this route to combine with lack of outwardly positive criticism. This route is an all-around good way to hit 9 miles, it gets everything you may want, yet somehow manages to do nothing incredibly well. Truly remarkable.
