In the last few years, I have spent countless hours running the various trails that Tallahassee, Florida, has to offer. The trails that I have come to know best, and to which I am most devoted, are those at Elinor Klapp-Phipps Park (Phipps Park) and Maclay Gardens. These trails are by no means a secret, but I wanted to make sure all explorers of the outdoors are aware of some of the prettiest and calmest outdoor spaces that Tallahassee has to offer.
For that reason, I created this guide to help with exploring the trails at Phipps Park and Maclay Gardens. I hope that anyone – whether an occasional hiker, novice jogger, mountain biker, endurance runner, or anyone who simply enjoys the outdoors – can experience some of my favorite Tallahassee trails. This guide concentrates on two ways of approaching the Phipps Park and Maclay Gardens trails; the first is by exploring the trails according to their distance; the second is for exploring the trails according to their topography and trail design. I know that there are plenty of other trails in the area, but these are the trails that mean the most to me. I hope that this guide inspires you to experience Phipps Park and Maclay Gardens for yourself.
